I will be camping in multiple different weather conditions on a trip, what rating should I look for in my tent?

You should determine what conditions you will spend the majority of your time in; if the weather will be mostly moderate, with warm temperatures, take a 3 Season tent. If you will be expecting mostly cold temperatures, or harsh conditions such as heavy rain, snow storms, or hail, take a 4 Season Tent. When in doubt, we prefer to opt for the better insulation of a 4 Season tent; which may be too warm for higher temperature outings.

There are ways to help cool down your tent if you find that you are too hot; try to pitch your tent in the shade, sleep in less gear and clothing, and lay directly on the ground rather than on a foam mat or air mattress.
